Neon and General Signs offers three distinct products - number plates, signs and miscellaneous branded products. It uses digital graphics to create professional designs and finishes. Its customer base includes many large Zambian companies like the mining corporations, Government Departments and banks. Since the signs are made locally, Neon and General Signs are able to turn orders round quickly. For the convenience of customers there is spacious parking at both branches - Ndola and Lusaka. Neon and General Signs was one of the first companies to provide quality signage to the Zambian business community, beginning in Ndola in the early 1970s to cater for the mining sector.
Number plates
The pressed, reflective number plates are produced by Neon and General Signs under licence from the Zambia Bureau of Standards (one of only two companies issued with this licence). Customers can walk in to the front office with their vehicle documentation (blue book), decide on which of the four standard sizes is best for their particular vehicle, then wait approximately 15 minutes for the number plates to be neatly fixed to their vehicle and securely held in place by pop rivets.
Neon signs
Neon units are manufactured by Neon and General Signs according to customers' specific requirements. With the open neon method, the units are overlaid directly onto the image, to illuminate the image at night. With the open channel method, separate images or letters are individually mounted on a building facia or wall. Other options are perspex faced metal box letters, and the open metal channel. The company will advise on which method will best suit customers' individual needs.
Light box signs
With light boxes, the whole box is illuminated with fluorescent tubes for high visibility. Light box faces made of perspex have a high gloss finish and excellent weather and UV resistance. The cheaper flex faces are shatter proof but do not last as long under intense UV conditions as perspex ones.
Reflective signs
Long-lasting and clear signs for roads, boats, bikes and driveway markers. These are manufactured using the highest engineering grade reflective paint, with high visibility throughout the day and night, and suitable for all climatic conditions.
General signs
Other signs produced by Neon and General Signs include professionally created vinyl signs, industrial safety signs, and stickers of all shapes and sizes, screened on FASCOL or FASROLL material. The company also screen prints on ABS material and COROSPLAST for point of sales signs, on perspex for pin badges, key rings, name plates and T-shirts, and on decal material for ceramic transfers. The company creates screen printed commemorative plaques on copper or brass using acid etching techniques, and door signs etched from graflax or perspex.
Miscellaneous branded products
As well as window etching, rubber stamps and name tags, Neon and General Signs has a range of products ideal for corporate branding, such as promotional products and trophies.
