International development in Zambia
Many international development bodies partner with Zambian organisations in different sectors of development including health, education, livelihoods, HIV AIDS, disaster management, gender, human rights, private enterprise and the environment. The support given varies and may include technical help, financial assistance, capacity building and humanitarian relief. Many development programs are government agencies that work to end extreme global poverty and enable resilient, democratic societies to realize their potential. Other programmes in Zambia directly address the Millennium Development Goals and to help remove the barriers to investment and wealth creation. Other activities focus on priority areas, based on Zambia’s national development plan.
