Managing and implementing the financial systems of teh programme in accordance with the activities and objectives set out in the PEP-Z business case, Terms of Reference and the consortium’s technical proposal.

[The Private Enterprise Programme – Zambia (PEPZ) is a five-year project funded by the UK Government’s Department for International Development (DFID) that aims to build and strengthen the capacity of Zambian micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to create jobs and contribute to the diversification of the economy.]


  • Keeping account of and complete records of all the project transactions
  • Liaising with the team to prepare monthly focused of cash flow by the 10th working day of month
  • Providing an account for transactions and expenses for the previous month
  • Producing payroll calculations and and paying consultant fees and wages to core team members as requested by the program manager and process ZRA and Napsa payments
  • Preparing and sending labour trackers to the head office
  • Ensuring adequate control system for financial management, such as keeping receipts and invoices and accounting for those
  • Processing local travel expenses claims based on approval by the team Leader
  • Facilitating payments for workshop, training activities and dissemination
  • Providing monthly bank and petty cash reconciliations for the previous month
  • Producing timely monthly financial reports to submit nathan London
  • Maintaining up to date fixed asset register and field advances register for the head office with monthly financial reports
  • Ensuring that the project complies with tax and insurance provisions
  • Ensuring consultants invoices are saved under Dropbox folder by agreed date
  • Overseeing the running the office
  • Complying with the head office requests in timely manner


  • Full ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountant) or CIMA (Chartered institute for management Acountant) or Bachelor’s degree in finance or equivalentMust be a member of ZICA (Zambia institute for Chartered of Accountant)
  • Five years of related professional experience with an international organisation
  • Preference, depth knowledge DFID rules and regulations, particularly as related to finance, accounting practices, contracts, procurement, and reporting
  • Strong organisation skills, attention to details, and ability to work independently, and collaboratively with the team- Leader and colleagues at HQ (London)
  • Full knowledge of Zambia Taxation and labour laws
  • Good understanding of Universal Performance Management Standards is an advantage
  • Excellent analytical skills as well as design and optimise processes and procedures to achieve increased efficiency
  • Expertise with MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Powerpoint Accounting Software, (QuickBooks, Pestel, or Navision Att) Payroll management systems and web based communications platforms, advanced Excel Skills preferable
