Planned Parenthood Association of Zambia (PPAZ) is a Zambian non-governmental organisation which has existed since 1972 as a voluntary, not-for-profit and non-political organisation advancing the cause of sexual and reproductive health in Zambia. It is a Member Association of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). PPAZ’s vision is realisation of a society in which all people in Zambia enjoy equal sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and have access to quality and affordable SRH information and services. Our mission is to advocate for sexual and reproductive health rights of women, men and young people, especially the vulnerable, and to empower them to make free and informed reproductive health choices. We dedicate ourselves to the provision of high quality and sustainable youth-focused sexual and reproductive health services. PPAZ is seeking a qualified Health Centre in Charge based in Lusaka.

Responsibilities

  • The overall responsibility of the Health Centre-In-Charge will be to provide effective and efficient practical implementation of all the sexual and reproductive health services through the centre and outreach sites
  • He or she will be responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising and reporting the activities and the resources of the Reproductive Health Centre
  • Ensure provision of quality sexual and reproductive health services and carry out day to day administration of the Centre
  • Coordinate the centre based and outreach sexual and reproductive health services
  • Supervise and provide technical support to staff regarding the provision of sexual and reproductive health services
  • Prepare the annual programme budget for centre based and outreach activities
  • Ensure availability of commodities consumables, equipment and other activities for centre based and outreach activities
  • Be accountable for all assets of the association under custody
  • Account for project income and expenditure

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • Registered Nurse Midwifery from recognized institutions
  • Qualifications in project management will be added advantage
  • Five years work experience in Reproductive Health Service provision
  • Ability to provide youth friendly health services
  • Good written and communication skills
  • Proficient in computer skills
