  • The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for supervising technical jobs on site and ensuring high standards of the Company’s mill plant machinery and equipment repair works including planning of routine, scheduled preventive maintenance as per the assigned location
  • Planning and scheduling both electrical and mechanical works such as planned maintenance activity, reacting to breakdowns, finding out and eliminating the root-cause of problems and working on continuous improvement projects
  • Leading and managing all aspects of the company maintenance department
  •  Constructing departmental and capital budgets as required and making sure that targets are achieved
  • Developing and measuring standards for business process and identifying improvement opportunities
  • Delivering improvements to the business, sometimes over more than one site
  • Managing the implementation of improvement initiatives possibly across more than one site
  • Managing implementation of engineering and process improvement projects
  • Oversee and control levels of stock required for maintenance
  • Managing all plant HR aspects of the maintenance department including training and development for staff
  • Meeting with equipment suppliers and ensuring all new equipment runs to specifications
  • Making sure all quality standards are met
  • Making sure improvements are implemented to reduce downtime and enhance company profitability Providing technical knowledge and expertise to get issues sorted


  • Full grade twelve (12) School Certificate
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical or Electro
  • Must be of a mature age
  • Must have eight years working experience preferably
    In FMCG or mining industry
  • Must have supervisory skills
  • Should have a good understanding of electrical or electronics
  • Must be a member of EIZ
