Mine Captain RBS X2

Responsibilies

  • Ensure that ore production tonnage and development advance are effectively achieved to meet overall targets
  • Supervise the work of development, long hole drilling, timbering and stop blasting to ensure that the set production program goes according to plan and prompt corrective action is taken when necessary
  • Ensure that both domestic and statutory mining safety regulations are enforced and observed at all times
  • Optimise the use of men, equipment and materials so as to minimize operational costs
  • Maintain discipline and sound industrial relations among subordinates and supervisors in order to promote good industrial climate conductive to high productivity
  • Maintain effective communication or liason with service departments and other mining sections to ensure the continuity of production operation
  • Ensure the availability of trained personnel to uphold sectional performance

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 certificate
  • Degree in Mining Engeneering or its equivalent
  • Five years post qualification experience in mining (underground) environment
  • Must have valid Blasting License and First Aid certificate
  • Fully paid member of EIZ
  • Under the age of 38 years
