The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing pediatric HIV infection and eliminating pediatric AIDS through research, advocacy, and prevention, care, and treatment programs. Founded in 1988, EGPAF supports activities in 19 countries around the world.

Responsibilities

  • To oversee the planning, initiation and implementation of pediatric and adolescent HIV testing and linkage to care and treatment services at EGPAF- supported facilities
  • To lead in the adaptation of national standard package for pediatric and adolescent HIV testing, care and treatment services and ensure it is implemented in EGPAF supported facilities
  • To lead with the supervision and mentor ship on implementation of standard package for pediatric and adolescent HIV testing, Care and treatment programs
  • To provide leadership and on-going technical support for mentor ship teams at provincial and district level while building technical capacity of program officers for ongoing and sustained technical support to facilities in the implementation of pediatric and adolescent HIV testing services (HTS)
  • Working with Community Engagement Officer, help to identify Adolescent and pediatric HIV champions that will lead community and provincial engagement and buy into scale up services for children adolescent
  • To oversee the planning and implementation of pediatric and adolescent HIV and AIDS; and MNCH services in EGPAF- supported facilities
  • To participate in the EMTCT/ pediatric/ Adolescent technical working groups in the Ministry of Health, National AIDS Council (NAC) as well as at provincial and district levels
  • Working with M&E officers, help track progress, identify course correction needs and implement interventions in a timely manner
  • Any other relevant duties that may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in public health or business, with at least three to five years of management experience of continuous HIV program implementation
  • Experience in Psycho social counselling
  • Experience in establishing and sustaining working relationships with the Government of Zambian Ministry of Health at provincial and district level
  • Significant and up to date knowledge of the current ART, PMTCT, TB/HIV, HTS guidelines, standards, tools and best practices
  • Experience in HIV/AIDS testing and linkage to care and treatment program implementation with demonstrated expertise in effective management of pediatrics and adolescents
  • Knowledge of PEPFAR program and NAC and MOH reporting requirements including familiarity  with the data collection and reporting tools used by MOH

  • Strong skills in diplomacy and team building with a variety of partners and stakeholders including the MOH, provincial  and district levels
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to work independently, assess priorities and manage a variety of activities with attention to detail
  • Strong project management skills
  • Knowledge of computer skills using excel, word and power point
  • Ability to travel domestically for service delivery monitoring up to 60% of the time
