The HR Officer will also work closely with departments, increasingly in a more-like consultancy role, assisting line managers to understand and implement policies and procedures. Our client in the petroleum sector are looking for a versatile sale and marketing individual to be in charge of the retail section for their Zambian operations. Below is the detail job description. The Retail Business Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day and long-term operations and financial success of the business and filling station stores. The Retail Business Manager will also maintain good business relationships and manage contracts/contract renewals with customers and distributor. Support and achieve marketing strategy objectives and goals.

Responsibilities

  • Developing business management goals and objectives that tend to growth and prosperity
  • Designing and implementing business plans and strategies to promote the attainment of goals
  • Drive marketing development plans including identifying opportunities, assessing value proposition, identifying target accounts
  • Lead sales team in sales development activities for existing and new markets
  • Develop new business relationships, services and products; and generate and negotiate new contracts
  • Maintain effective relationships with s existing clients in order to retain business
  • Develop new business relationships, generate and negotiate new income for the company
  • To present the company to potential clients through communication in face-to-face meetings, telephone calls and emails
  • Plan and manage events and tradeshows with a view to gaining new business leads and contacts
  • Managing operations at filling stations and retail stores
  • Respond to tenders and requests for information in a timely manner
  • Ensuring that the company has the adequate and suitable resources to complete its activities
  • Organize and coordinate operations in ways that ensure maximum productivity
  • Supervise the work of employees and provide feedback and counsel to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Maintain relationships with partners/vendors/suppliers
  • Gather, analyze and interpret external and internal data and write reports
  • Assess overall company performance against objectives
  • Represent the company in events, conferences
  • Ensure adherence to legal rules and guidelines

Qualifications

  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Thorough understanding of diverse business processes and strategy development
  • Degree in Sales and Marketing or Business Management /Administration or any Commercial field
  • Seven Years’ experience in Sales and Marketing of two-three years must be at a similar or senior role
  • Proven experience in Shop and merchandising management, store and personnel management, and supplier relations management
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, databases and information systems
  • Good understanding of research methods and data analysis techniques
    A willingness to travel often
    Must be a member of a relevant professional body
