Eureka Camping Park Campsite

Just 15 minutes south of Lusaka situated on a private game farm, the spacious grounds of Eureka! Camping Park offer many shady and relaxing camping spots, a range of self-catering options, en-suite chalets and a 26-bed bunkhouse for parties of backpackers. This is the kind of place for fun, friends and story-telling by camp fires! The camping facilities are high quality - clean and comfortable - and placed in spectacular natural scenery where groups of campers, both large and small, can join in and get to know the farm, other visitors and the animals too.

The history behind Eureka! Camping Park makes interesting reading. Several years ago weary travellers in an overland truck needed a place to rest. At the time there were no suitable facilities around Lusaka so the travelling backpackers stopped off at Eureka! and used the farm water tank to cool down! The need for an equipped stopping point became apparent to the owners, Doreen and Henry Van Blerk, who gradually developed the facilities to what they are today. The farm on which Eureka! Camping Park is now situated has been in the Van Blerk family for more than 100 years. A couple of years ago five generations of the family were on the farm at one time!

Food and entertainment
Enjoy a wonderful farmhouse or continental breakfast for just $5! In the evenings, steak rolls, veggie burgers and hamburgers are on sale and in case you get hungry in between, snacks and pub grub are available throughout the day. There is also a well stocked bar with cold drinks and beers. To ensure you have everything you need in this largely self-catering environment, there are barbecue facilities just about everywhere, and a kitchen with a large freezer, cooking and washing up facilities. You can enjoy the wildlife including zebra, buffalo and various deer species, the secluded pool for cooling off or just relaxing around, the volley ball pitch and a large thatched bar area - with darts, pool table and satellite TV.
