Apogo Guest House is within easy access of shopping and entertainment services such as Manda Hill and Arcades shopping malls as well as local business districts. Located in the quiet suburb of Olympia Park it is conveniently close to Lusaka’s central business district.
Accommodation
The three cottages all have self-catering facilities and give guests a more secluded experience. Rooms are simple with a minimalist approach to furnishings – Apogo Guest House provides a clean place to lay your head, with an easygoing atmosphere. With room rates beginning at ZMW200 per room per night, this is true budget accommodation.
Facilities
Each room is self contained and comes with an LCD wall mounted TV screen. There’s a selection of at least 4 DSTV channels, a variety of local TV stations and additional channel which features rumba, zambian and gospel music for music lovers. Wireless internet facilities are available 24/7 in all rooms, dinning hall and within the lodge premises, at a minimal fee. The lodge uses 4G broadband LAN/ Wi-Fi. Using the internet telephone network is available in all rooms, making it easier to get in touch with the reception. Room and laundry services are provided, however, room service is only available up to 22:00 hours.
For guests looking to cool down on hot days the guest house has a large swimming pool available to guests for no additional cost. Outside clients are required to pay ZMW20 per day for adults and ZMW10 for children who are 12 and below.
The Apogo Guest House restaurant provides meals for guests. Note that these are prepared to order. If you don’t find what you’re looking for on the menu, just ask a member of staff and they can usually oblige. The service here is straightforward and friendly. Interestingly Apogo Guest House has grown its clientèle mainly through referrals.
Wera Nature and Conservation Game Farm
The proprietors of Apogo Guest House also run Wera Nature and Conservation Game Farm. This nature area just outside Lusaka is being developed with passion and dedication. It provides an opportunity for visitors to Lusaka to experience a little of the natural African bush and wildlife in its simplicity. Suitable for families or business visitors looking for a short simple break in unspoilt nature.
A game farm outing includes game drives, horse riding, pond fishing, boat rides and a braii, all for $75 per person. Transfers from Apogo Guest House are complimentary. Trips to the game farm need to be arranged and booked in advance.
