Nsobe Game Camp: Safari accommodation
Nsobe Game Camp, on a privately owned 1500 hectare miombo woodland game farm, lies just 60 kilometres south of Ndola and 60 kilometres north of Kapiri Mposhi, and is only 9 kilometres off the main road that connects Lusaka to Ndola, in the Copperbelt province of Zambia. 'Nsobe' means 'sititunga', a local antelope, in the Lamba and Bemba language. The camp blends in naturally with the bush environment where animals and birds abound, making Nsobe Game Camp the perfect place for game viewing, bush walking, birding, fishing, canoeing or just relaxing as the sun goes down.
Nsobe Game Camp offers a range of accommodation to suit different styles and budgets. At the main camp, the luxury en-suite safari tents make for a great outdoor experience in the wild. There is also a family chalet on the water’s edge and another one tucked into the forest, both serviced by the restaurant and bar. Accommodation rates for safari tents and chalets include full English breakfast and a three course dinner. The birder's cabin and the large fisherman’s cabin are self-catering chalets on their own private dam, five and 10 minutes walk from the main camp respectively. There is also a camp site for those bringing their own tents. This is adjacent but separate from the main camp, with a hot water ablution block, but no power points. And right at the other end of the spectrum, there's Mukuyu Camp - for ultimate luxury and exclusivity.
The facilities at Nsobe Game Camp include two public bars, a restaurant, a swimming pool and a butchery. The secluded Bush Spa includes a sauna, jacuzzi and resident masseuse, and the TV Lounge has satellite television, a pool table and darts. Lawn sports equipment for croquet, volleyball and horseshoe is also available.
