The Zambian Art and Design Show is one of those annual events that started out very small and informal and has gained popularity with each coming year. Last year over 2,000 men, women and children got themselves to the show and had a great family day out, as well as the opportunity to see and buy quality design work from some very talented artists.
The 2011 show
Now in its 4th year, the Zambian Art and Design Show was held on Sunday November 20th at the Lusaka Polo Club on Nangwenya Road in Lusaka. It offered a great opportunity to purchase unique Zambian designed gifts for Christmas - toys, interiors, accessories and fine art, conceived and created by some of the region's most talented artists and designers. The 2011 show included exhibits and products for purchase in the following categories: jewellery, interiors, children, fashion and accessories, furniture, homeware, artists, beauty and health, and more. There was also live entertainment, a full bar, delicious eateries, and a kids' corner to keep the toddlers happy. all under cover. The organisers, Gillie, Nancy, Butterfly and Charles, believe the 2012 show promises to be even better.
