Pansupa Restaurant and Lounge is an Afro fusion restaurant that specialises in Zambian cuisine. Here you'll get a delicious, healthy and typically Zambian meal served beautifully in the Zambian way. It provides diverse dining options - from relaxed meals to romantic candle lit dinners. A well stocked bar has drinks ranging from wines, shooters, spirits, ciders, mixers and softies. As well as embodying authentic Zambia cuisine, Pansupa Restaurant often has live bands.
With beautiful, rich African décor, Pansupa restaurant has received wide acclaim since it opened in June 2010. Since then it has hosted the former President of Zambia, Dr Kenneth Kaunda and the former President of Botswana, Festus Mogae and many other high profile guests. Pansupa's sister company Plan It Designs, on the same premises, specialises in quality events management, and interior design and décor.
About the food
All the food served have medicinal value and grown in Zambia. The restaurant's specialities includes goat stew and charcoal grilled dishes of village chicken, goat, fish and beef. All these delicacies are served with nshima, rice, sweet potatoes and seasonal fruit and vegetables.
The founder
Owned and run by Evelyn Ndawa Kasonkomona, who has been in the hospitality industry for over twenty years, Pansupa has a long history. Evelyn learned the art of cooking from her Mum who started Pansupa in her backyard! Evelyn took it over after completing high level training and professional work placements in hospitality and interior design. She moved the restaurant to its current premises, introducing new and fresh ideas whilst maintaining the authenticity of the food and its presentation. Evelyn and her Mum are pictured together on the right.
Interior design and art exhibits
Evelyn has put a lot of effort into the design of the restaurant and lounge, creating a cosy dining area, comfortable furnishings and ethnic décor in soothing warm tones. She also actively promotes African art and the restaurant has many pieces of interest creatively displayed around the premises.
