Flights to Zambia are available from many of the main international airlines and currently, there are no airlines that fly directly into Zambia, all international flights involve one or more stops. International airlines fly into Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka, Harry Khumbula International Airport in Livingstone and Simon Kapwepwe International Airport in Ndola. Other city airports are open for Zambia domestic flights and air transfers – probably the most convenient way to travel between cities and most safari destinations in Zambia. Some cheap flights to Zambia are usually available, especially outside regular school holiday periods. You may also get discounts for last minute flights, or tickets booked well in advance.

The country has several airports, but of these airports, flights to Zambia are handled by the following airports including Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (former Lusaka International Airport), Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula International Airport (former Livingstone International Airport) and Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport (former Ndola International Airport).

Smaller Zambian airports are for domestic flights and air charters only. For domestic flights, of notable importance are the Mfuwe Airport and Solwezi Airport with weekly flights of 21 and 35 respectively.

Lusaka - Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (KKIA)

The Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (KKIA) is the country's main point of entry and exit. It caters for both domestic and international flights. There are 19 carriers operating out of the KKIA with a combined average of 91 domestic and 413 international flights departing from the airport each week.

Kenya Airways operates 14 weekly flights to Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (KKIA) and South African Airways operates between KKIA (Lusaka) and Johannesburg.

Emirates have flights between Lusaka and Dubai (Dubai International Airport) and other airlines with flights to Lusaka are South African Airways, Air Malawi, Air of Tanzania, KLM, Air Botswana, Egypt Air, TAAG Angola Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines and Kenya Airways.
