Zambia pre school services cover places of learning that cater for children prior to their primary education – in Zambia these can be a nursery, crèche, play school or day care service. The age group for a Zambian pre school is typically from two or three years to five years, occasionally rising to seven years. Whilst many parents choose to keep their children within the home during these early years, others in Zambia look for childcare for their children to prepare them for primary school. The emphasis is usually on constructive play, character-building and learning, in that order. Parents are often encouraged to develop a partnership with the pre school for the benefit of their own child as well as the school community.
