Metropolitan School Secondary school

The Metropolitan Secondary School team of teachers is dedicated to offering students the opportunity to learn within a positive but strict environment that encourages the mind to ask questions. The team are well qualified, and experienced, and this is supported by the school's long history - it has run successfully since 1979. Over time it has successfully maintained high standards in moulding the characters of young minds so they blossom into mature and responsible citizens.

Student teacher ratios and approach
Student-teacher ratios are low allowing the teachers the ability to differentiate between the individual needs of their maturing students. The teachers are able to offer instructions and guidance based on the individual strengths, interests, and abilities of individual students. Metropolitan Secondary School provides an environment which enriches the intellectual, social and emotional development of the pupils within an atmosphere that nurtures the development of maturity in the secondary students.

School facilities and services
The science lab is well equipped and Metropolitan School also has a computer room and library that is sufficiently stocked for both pupils and teachers. The infrastructure and grounds provide a favourable environment for teaching and learning with a campus that is spacious and equipped for sports like football, volleyball, basketball and mini cricket. Indoor activities are also scheduled for students and includes clubs like debate, music, and cultural dance. Free extra remedial classes are held in the afternoons for pupils who are struggling and need more help to achieve their grades.  Metropolitan Secondary School also arranges for speakers to visit the school to present on motivational topics, career talks and the educational opportunities within Zambia and abroad.
