Eviva, which literally means 'Cheers' in Greek, specialises in Greek cuisine. You'll find this culinary gem in a quiet neighbourhood of Lusaka. Run by husband and wife duo Akis and Eleni, the restaurant offers a great dining experience for family, friends and business colleagues. It is open Tuesday through to Sunday.

The restaurant The restaurant has different dining areas, each with its own atmosphere, to suit any particular occasion. The main restaurant floor houses a large seating area as well as an ample sized bar, with décor that is tasteful and reminiscent of a Greek island, awash in blue light that mirrors the colour of the sea. For a more private dining experience, there is a beautiful terrace. Outside, a more relaxed and intimate dining atmosphere has been created overlooking a water feature reminiscent of the shores of the Mediterranean. The food The starter menu has an array of seafood and traditional Greek 'mezze style' plates. Also on offer are a variety of salads and soups. One of the most unusual starters Halloumi Strawberry started out as an 'experiment' carried out by head-chef, George, and has now earned a well deserved, permanent place on the menu. This dish juxtaposes the firm saltiness of Halloumi cheese with the zingy, flavourful sweetness of fresh strawberries. Such an unexpected combination works as the perfect opening act to any meal. Eviva's sushi menu delivers on exceptional quality. The craftsmanship of the sushi is exquisite and includes various maki, hand rolled sandwiches and sushi platters. The restaurant goes to great lengths to ensure that the fish is flown in fresh from South Africa, Tanzania and Mozambique with the taste of the coast that it came from. Eviva takes pride in its seafood offering. Diners are able to take a look at the fresh fish on offer and select their own components for fish platters. Fish is priced by weight and this allows guests the flexibility to customise their seafood platters depending on personal preferences, the number of guests and the availability of different seafood. The red snapper is a dish not to be missed and is cooked to perfection over hot coals. The quality of Zambian meat is undisputed. Eviva serves prime cuts of rump and fillet steak grilled to the liking of guests, with a choice of freshly prepared sauces such as pepper, mushroom, garlic as well as café de Paris and lemon butter sauce. The wine connoisseurs will most certainly appreciate the beautiful selection of wines that take their places at the bar.
