Grassroot Soccer

Grassroot Soccer is an organisation committed to arming young people with knowledge, skills and community support for the prevention of HIV. The organisation uses the power of soccer to achieve this goal. GRSZ was launched in 2005 and has built a strong program and presence working in schools and communities across Zambia. Grassroot Soccer was originally founded in Zimbabwe in 2002 by four professional African soccer players.

Grassroot Soccer strives to deliver and coordinate an array of prevention services for young people that will help protect them from HIV and lead a healthy life. This combination prevention model includes: behavioural prevention, structural prevention and biomedical prevention.
  • Motivate youth to stay healthy
