Jonathan Timberlake currently works in the Herbarium at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew in UK where he is the Editor of Flora Zambesiaca – the definitive account covering all plants of the Zambezian region. For the last 12 years he has been editing the Flora and leading numerous ecological and plant collecting trips in the region.
Jonathan has had extensive experience in botany, ecology and conservation across Southern and Eastern Africa, with particular interests in miombo and forest ecology, vegetation survey, Acacia, Brachystegia, and plant conservation. He has published widely on these topics and is author of Chirinda Forest: A Visitor’s Guide and A Fieldguide to the Acacias of Zimbabwe, as well as contributing a chapter to the CIFOR book on Dry Forests and Woodlands of Africa.
