The first edition of the Lusaka Arts Festival (LAF) will take place in 2018.
Over many years, the Lusaka International Community School (LICS) has hosted a popular and growing school "Fun Day". Last year the LICS Carnival attracted around 2,300 people and featured everything from the expected (class games, crate climbing, jumping castles and 5-a-side football tournament) to the unexpected, including workshops by Circus Zambia and Barefeet Theater and musical performances.
Every year, there is an amazing range of international food and drinks on offer and 2017 topped expectations with made-to-order-pizzas, sushi rolls, shawarma and sarnies; there were smoothies, slushies, espresso and wine. There was truly something for everyone be in food, entertainment and excitement.
International governmental representatives from European and other countries represented in Zambia, were enthused by the idea of growing the LICS Carnival and expanding the event to include more artists, more musicians and more of our Lusaka community. Key partners in local, corporate and diplomatic circles quickly got behind the idea of a week-long arts and music festival.
LICS is proud to announce that this collaboration has brought to life a fully-fledged arts festival, incorporating the LICS Annual Carnival - the 2018 Lusaka Arts Festival!
