Lake Road (PTA) School invites suitably qualified and motivated candidates to fill the position of Procurement and Stores Officer.
The job of the Procurement and Stores Officer is to be responsible for the procurement/ acquisition of all school requisites, and their safe storage and to undertake stock checks in the school to ensure that school property is properly accounted for.
Ensure procurement of works, goods and services for the School as approved by the Procurement Committee;
Inquire into market prices of items used by the School from time to time in order to compare prices being charged by the approved suppliers to avoid the School being exploited;
Maintain contacts with suppliers and government departments for smooth business operations;
Provide the School Accountant with reports on CAPEX Register and stock movement on a regular basis;
Ensure adherence to the procurement policy, laws, regulations and guidelines;
Ensure all purchase orders are promptly prepared, authorised and delivered to the supplier on time;
Raises stock cards for new items/materials received and records relevant details such as description of item, unit received, catalogue number etc for subsequent updating.
Full Grade 12 Certificate.
Diploma or Certificate in Purchasing and Supply, or any other business related qualification
Knowledge and experience in Stores management
Minimum of 2 years of work experience in a related position
The ability to place urgency on varying demands
Good negotiating skills
Ability to work in teams
Supply market analysis
Excellent computer skills
