Monitor condition of equipment.
Carry out routine and statutory inspections.
Identify continuous improvement opportunities within area of control.
Supervise planned maintenance and breakdown repairs on ancillary fleet.
Measure and report overall maintenance performance
Actively promote full cooperation between the maintenance and mining operation.
Take full responsibility and accountability for the performance of the mobile maintenance team.
Assist to prepare and control cost budgets for mobile maintenance teams.
Identify opportunities for continuous improving of maintenance processes and systems.
Cooperate with the maintenance planners regarding input schedules and accurate information.
Implement and maintain safe work procedures and promote high safety and health awareness. Promote and comply with the Kalumbila Occupational Health & Safety Policy.
Manage daily attendance records for the team and recommend training for team members
Be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the team.
Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Certified applicable Trade qualification
Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia
Experience in large multi pit operations utilising large scale mining equipment
Extensive experience in the use of a recognised Computerised Maintenance management system preferably PRONTO
Ability to show initiative and have good interpersonal skills
Must be familiar with safe working practices
Fine (5) years’ experience in a supervisory role
Must have a current driver’s license
Possession of a valid silicosis certificate
