Responsibilities
To manage the Public Sector Team efficiently so that performance goals and objectives are achieved.
Distribute and control the tasks to be performed by the employees in the Department
Promote awareness and ensure adherence to all policies & procedures
Formulate strategies for the Public Sector department
Indicate market, sector and technological trends and developments for the coming years
Propose and/or implement innovative ideas to enhance business results
Liaise with key operational functions to ensure client service delivery to agreed benchmarks
To manage the formulation and implementation of key client service programs. Under the supervision of the Head Corporate and Investment Banking, the following are among the Job Key Responsibilities:-
To originate, maintain and develop relationships in Corporate Market and /or more in the specifically defined portfolio
To manage a corporate loan book within parameters provided by Risk Management
Negotiate terms and conditions and prepare information pack for Corporate Credit to prepare credit applications for new and renewal of loan facilities for Public Sector clients
To present and defend Public Sector credit applications in the Credit Committee
Attend regular meetings with customers, product teams and other internal stakeholders
Review Account Plans, Call Reports & Tracking Templates and ensure the “deal pipeline” is updated timeously
Review the wallet size for clients timely & ensure client calls are filed, client communications, internal memos, credit papers on the assigned portfolio
Effectively monitor the initiation of all credit processes (extensions, excesses full briefs, annual reviews)
Prepare and maintain procedures and work instructions
Internalize and live the values, norms and behavioural codes of the Bank
Cooperate with other Departmental Heads to obtain the best financial and commercial results for the Bank
To prepare and maintain the annual departmental budget & Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Assist Head – Corporate and Investment Banking with product knowledge and market research (Desk top)
Coordinate and provide input to GLC & credit processes and create bank proposals and track to make certain of their timely delivery
Track and coordinate the implementation of transaction banking solutions to customers
Assist the Head - Corporate and Investment Banking’s business development activities, business planning, customer acquisition and strategy, business research and marketing
Ensure action points raised in call reports are collated and track each action point to its conclusion
Assist in the communication and implementation of any action necessary to improve service in respect of complaints/compliments received
Jointly work with Corporate Credit & Risk on credit issues with a view of implementing the Zanaco credit processes (Early Alert, Watch List & Provisioning) with the objective of minimal default by proactively restructuring to avoid default where necessary

Qualifications
University Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Social Sciences and any Finance related field of study
A Masters Degree would be an added advantage
Minimum of 5 years in a related role particularly in a corporate sales environment
