Key Responsibilities

The HR Manager will be required to contribute to the achievement of excellent conservation results through the development and delivery of human resource services, policies and the cultivation of high-performance, teamwork and effective internal communication

Coordinate talent management efforts in line with the needs of the organization and set Talent management process;

Leading staff engagement, strengthening Organization’s value-based culture, promoting learning and the development of supportive office environment.

Leading the identification of human resource needs and ensuring the coherence, effectiveness and sustainability of the organizational structure.

Providing people-centered transformational change leadership to the organization development process as both a member of Senior Management Team

Lead the recruitment processes in collaboration with hiring managers.

Support the development and implementation of succession plans for key positions;

Strengthen and coordinate the annual performance management process and ensure that all staff are appraised;

Ensure the regular review and appropriate application of levels of personnel financial compensation and benefits;

Advises Management and monitor staff related legal/discipline matters;

Manage relationships with Labor Authorities and other partners

Ensure compliance of the health policy including insurance management (Health, Accident);

Maintaining HR data and statistics and providing regular reports to the Country Director and Senior Management Team to facilitate continuous improvement;

Liaises and cooperates with the Internal auditor on HR related audits and self-audits if/as required and follow-up implementation of audit recommendations in the related fields;

Maintains personnel contracts and checks that they are compliant with both Organization and national standards;

Oversees payroll preparation and monitor staff internal loans;

Responds to queries and requests for information on HR policies, working conditions, performance management systems and crisis management issues;

Participates in the Senior Management Team meetings, Interim Board and other activities, in support of the Country Director and other Heads of Department

Organisation of regularized staff meetings, training, staff engagement and team-building events.

Performs other duties as requested by the Country Director.

Qualifications

Masters in Human Resources Management, Organizational Psychology with bachelor’s degree in related field

Five 5 years of progressive professional experience in HR

Proven track record in Human Resources Administration and Management

Knowledge of the institutional, legal and policy framework of employment and HR management in Zambia & Zimbabwe

Experience working with an INTERNATIONAL NGO IS AN ADDED ADVANTAGE

Good guidance, counseling and negotiation skills, at all levels;

Good abilities to work in a team and across teams;

Must be a member of the ZIHRM with a valid practicing certificate

Proven leaderships skills

Ability to communicate effectively, inspire and coach and seed behavior change in the work place;

Excellent inter-personal skills, and a good understanding of human relationships;

Proven skills in design, administration and management of HR Management systems, policies and processes;

Experience of working in a matrix organization;

Excellent oral and written communications skills in English
