Study Manager – Tb Prevalence Survey

Zambart is a research-focused non-governmental organisation that conducts research on HIV and Tuberculosis to help control and mitigate the impact of the dual epidemic. Zambart staff form an interdisciplinary team with a range of expertise including epidemiology, clinical science, social science, laboratory, operations research, health systems and services research, health policy analysis, health economics, health communication research compliance and counselling. TREATs Study Summary

The overall aim of TREATS project is to measure the impact of a combined TB/HIV intervention of population level screening for TB, combined with universal testing and treatment (UTT) for HIV, delivered over 4 years, on TB incidence, prevalence of TB disease and incidence of TB infection.


This position will involve overseeing and carrying out the TB prevalence Survey, managing field research teams; research design, research tools development, analysis of survey data, writing scientific papers and study related policy briefs. This will include:

 Preparation of Standard Operating Procedures/ Field Manual

 Training and supervision survey personnel

 Management of all study resources, planning and coordination of the fieldwork.

 Review protocols, sampling plans, data analysis plans, data management plans

 Preparation of reports on the survey activities


 Higher degree in health related sciences e.g. MB.BS/MD/MPH/MSc epidemiology.

 Prior experience in conducting TB prevalence Surveys.

 Demonstrated competence in field survey management.

 Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice guidelines.

 Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office programs
