Lubambe Copper Mine is located within the Greater Konkola Area of the Zambia Copperbelt and consists of a large – scale mining license covering an area of approximately 240 square kilometers. The mine is a modern, world class facility with fully mechanized underground operations. Lubambe Copper Mine is owned by EMR Capital of Australia ZCCM — Investments Holdings (20%). The Mine is currently in a ramp up stage and will ultimately produce 45,000 tonnes of contained copper and wili employ approximately 1,500 people. The Plant infrastructure consist of a Concentrator plant, a laboratory and underground infrastructure. The Concentrator incorporates crushing, milling, floatation and filtration. The design capacity is 2.5 MTPA of ore at an average mill grade of 2.3% copper, yielding 45.000 tonnes of contained copper in concentrate to be sold to smelters in Zambia. Lubambe Copper Mine Limited requires the services of a qualified and motivated persons to fill the following vacancies:

Reporting to the Manager Corporate Affairs, who in turn reports to the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for all internal and external communtcations of the company ensuring good public relations, effective and effcient communication with all stakeholders in line with the company’s communication policy.


 Prepare content, format, distribute and manage internal employee communications at the mine site (non-Human Resources related) including that from the Chief Executive Officer to all staff.

 Maintenance and presentation of materials on all Company Notice Boards that are used by majority of employees;

 Particpate in planning, coordination and execution of corporate events to ensure consistency in all company branding and communication;

 Creation and management of a new company website, including content creation and management;

 Set up and overstghtof company Twitter, Facebook, Instagram/ other social media accounts:

 Ownership of company logo/branding, ensuring uniformity of materials across company (re letterhead, slide deck templates, business cards, conference displays. etc);

 Leadership in preparing company printed materials (brochures, booklets, reports, promotional

materials. etc) including contracting with printers;

 Lead engagement and serve as focal point with media (local, regional and national) both pro-actively and re-actively;

 Creation of content for local media (both print and radio);

 Prepare and ensure completeness of questions and answers’ concerning company background, operations, license to operate, community engagement;

 Support Manager Corporate Affairs on matters related to local community engagement

 Represent the company when needed at public events/speaking forums;

 Maintain an updated data base of key stakeholders for easy communication;

 Prepare accurate, timely reports and documentation of all public relations activities; and

 Network with key media practitioners at various fora.


 University degree, in Journalism, Mass Communication or Media from a recognized institution preferred

 More than 5 years experience in communications field, preferably in the private Sector and/or media institutions

 Proven ability to work independently of fixed instructionsiability to take concepts through to completion in the areas noted above

 Complete fluency (written and spoken) in both English and Bemba

 Solid editing and formatting skills

 Complete ease in using sooal media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and others prior website content preparation and management

 Having a keen visual and aural perspective related to creation and presentation of materials

 Track-record of delivenng results and acting as a change agent

 Public relations and interpersonal skills
