Field Facilitator X2

Save the Children is the world’s leading independent organization for children and has been operational in Zambia since the 1980s, providing support to children through developmental and humanitarian relief programmes delivered both directly and through local partners. Current programming focuses on child protection, child rights governance, education, health, HIV/AIDS, child poverty, nutrition and WASH.

Role purpose:

o The Field Facilitator is a key member of the sponsorship team in fulfilling the mission of sponsorship.

o The incumbent is responsible for sponsorship policies and procedures, a variety of field tasks including enrolling children in the program, receiving, translating, and delivering as well as mobilizing the community to participate in the sponsorship funded programs.

Key Areas of Accountability

Correspondence Management:

o To ensure utilisation of approved mail templates in the field for all communications between sponsors and sponsored children;

o To coordinate delivery of incoming mails and gift packages to children in the field as well as collection of child responses/replies within the stipulated timeframe;

o To ensure that all children’s replies collected from Community volunteers are checked for appropriate content and authenticity;

o To develop and share effective tracking tools for all correspondences and gift packages awaiting responses from Community volunteers;

o Ensure appropriateness, quality and authenticity of all mails delivered and collected from the field by Community volunteers:

Child Information Management Plan [CIMP]

o Conduct community sensitization/awareness and mobilization meetings for the Child Enrolments with support of Community volunteers;

o Produce evidence of all community meetings in form of Minutes/Reports and submit monthly to the line manager;

o Conduct and meet Child enrolment targets as assigned and agreed;

o Ensure all sponsorship family applications with signed parental consent are verified for completeness;

o Monitoring child eligibility/ineligibility and ensuring that each enrolled child participates in sponsorship-funded programs or receives a program benefit that is identifiable and can be documented through success stories:

Marketing and Retention Plan

o Conduct two (2) Mid-year Year Eligibility Check ( MYEC) & Annual Family Update (AFU) data collection within the stipulated timeframe;

o Ensure MYEC and AFU quality control issues raised during the campaign are resolved promptly within the stipulated timeframe;

o Identify quarterly success stories, blogs and support video shooting as per the approved marketing and retention plan:

ASISt Database Management

o Report all child/children ineligibilities accompanied by timely detailed report including deaths;

o Ensure that correspondence and downstream reports are shared with Community Volunteers weekly.

Planning & Reporting

1. Support sponsorship team with the implementation plans, monitor benefits for enrolled children in the program;

2. Write quarterly and monthly reports for sponsor services as per respective community;

3. To support the development of external networks & systems in order to promote sponsorship services;

Visit communities to verify children’s information:

o The post holder may be required to carry out additional duties within reasonableness of their level of skills and experience.

Qualifications and experience

o Minimum qualification of a relevant Diploma in Social Sciences, Bachelor’s Degree will an added advantage

o At least 3 years relevant work experience

o Knowledge of computers; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and Power Point)

o Strong Planning, Organisational and Communication skills (English and Bemba)

o Ability to work both independently and with a team

o Experience working on a Child Education Program an added advantage

o Strong networking skills

o Experience working with local key stakeholders

o Motor Bike Licence class “A” is A MUST.

o Ready to work and live in Lufwanyama area of operation.

Child Safeguarding

o Level 2-the responsibilities of the post may require the post holders to have regular contact with or access to children or young people.

o In this regard, the job holder should be in a position to work and uphold the interest of Children and uphold the organization’s Child Safeguarding policy.
