Loans Officer X4

Description

Job Purpose

  • The Loans Officer will assist with vetting, compiling and processing of loan disbursements.
  • Process loan payments and updating the loanee’s records.
  • The Loans Officer will provide loan inputs to finance for posting to the General Ledger and ensuring that Mortgages are created to safeguard funds disbursed.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Vetting and appraising loan application forms to determine eligibility of applicant in accordance with set out guidelines and rules make recommendations and ensure that all supporting documents are attached in line with home ownership rules.
  • Ensure a due diligence is carried out in with the internal and external Legal Consultants for all house loan applications to determine any encumbrances on the property.
  • Process the loan payments and ensure all documents are attached to support the payment.
  • Prepare a loans amortization schedule and monitor correctness of posted repayments and interest to the General Ledger.
  • Prepare loans inputs to payroll to facilitate deductions.
  • Maintain and update reconciled mortgage debtors schedule for loans.
  • Prepare monthly report for house recoveries and loans balances.
  • Draft mortgage deeds and register the interest of the Authority with Ministry of Lands or relevant Councils.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Full Grade Twelve (12) Certificate (with credit and above in Mathematics and English)
  • Full or Finalist of ZICA /ACCA/CIMA OR
  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree or equivalent
  • Must have 3 – 4 years’ experience Loan Processing in a Commercial Bank or well establishing Financial Lending Institution
  • Must have 2-3 proven experience in Debt Management / Recoveries
  • Must be a member of a relevant professional body
