Marketing Manager

Astro Mobile is a technology company whose Headquarters is based in Mauritius, which manufactures mobile devices and develops mobile software solutions. We have operations in Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Malawi and Mauritius. Astro is in the process of setting up one of the first mobile plant in Africa in Zimbabwe. Exciting opportunities have arisen for ambitious, highly motivated and self-driven candidates to join the vibrant enterprise at our Zambian Office.

Required Qualifications And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or equivalent.
  • MBA or Post – Graduate is a plus.
  • Professional qualifications like CIM desirable
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Marketing field in a Telecom environment will be an added advantage
  • Should have a valid driver’s License

  • Up to speed with current and online marketing techniques and best practices
  • Thorough knowledge of web analytics (e.g. Google Analytics, Web Trends etc.) and Google.

  • Excellent presentation skills including both development and delivery
  • Deep knowledge of apps and the digital marketing space.

  • Professional and proactive work ethic
  • High competence in project and stakeholder management

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Grow the Astro Brand & increase market share through increased visibility and sustained increase in market share
  • Close deals with Mobile Network Operators
  • Get Future Value Deals and supply devices
  • Get out right device purchases
  • Get distribution in the retail stores
  • Distribute Astro products through selected major mobile devices distribution network
  • Ensure all major informal mobile vendors sell Astro products
  • Ensure all formal retailers of mobile devices sell Astro products
  • Distribute Astro products through selected major Employers e.g. Government, Uniformed forces, Reputable Companies and organizations
  • Build business cases for new markets
  • Own and hit/exceed annual sales targets within assigned territory and accounts
  • Develop and execute strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
  • Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives
  • Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations
  • Understand category-specific landscapes and trends
  • Oversee the establishment and full operations of the new markets
  • Project manage all new operations
  • Create new strategic relationships
  • Maintain the relationships for business benefit
  • Look at products and services that can give value to the company
  • Sustain business growth profitably
  • Formulation and implementation of business strategies
  • Grow customer base in existing markets
