Sales & Marketing Manager (X1)

Job Purpose

  • The Sales & Marketing Manager will accomplish business development activities by researching and developing marketing opportunities and plans
  • Implementing sales plans
  • Managing staff members as well as distributors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sensitizing regions and markets with less awareness of products through marketing strategies
  • Analysis of sales information and providing insights to the Business Manager and Managing Director
  • Coordination of meetings with key customers, and regular follow-up with customers across Zambia leveraging our sales team
  • Ensuring route to market is efficient and timely and the channel distribution is appropriately suite for a basket of products
  • Managing promotional/marketing events (i.e. Promotions in newspapers and price discounts with key retail such as Shoprite, Pick n Pay as well as wet demonstrations in informal trade and rural markets)
  • Recruiting and training sales representatives and merchandizers
  • Assist in logistics coordination for customer deliveries
  • Develop strategies for growing into untapped market segments i.e institutions, commercial operators
  • Enhance/Maintain and monitor customer database using MS Access or MS Excel

Required Skills

  • Strong Communication & Diplomacy Skills
  • Knowledge of Customer Service Skills
  • Innovator and able to think outside the box
  • Microsoft Excel, Word and Reporting skills

Key Qualifications & Requirements

  • Degree in Business/ Marketing or any commercial field
  • Minimum 5 years’ sales/marketing experience in Consumer Food Brands (FMCG)
  • Must be well networked in Zambia
  • Must have proven experience of dealing and managing key retail accounts such as Shoprite, Pick n Pay, Spar and Choppies
  • Must be a member of ZIM
