Pensions and Client Relations Officer

Reporting: To the Head Pensions and Client Relations.

Job purpose:

  • To run the Solwezi Office by co-ordinating the activities of the Trust in North Western Province in order to improve and help drive the Trust achieve its strategic goals and growth.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead membership growth activities and initiate client retention programmes such as inductions and workshops for both new and old employees of various participating companies respectively to apprise them on relevant pension information and procedures pertaining to the scheme thereof.
  • Co-ordinate all the communications with head office, all participating Employers and Corporate clients to ensure that all the pension contributions and funds are remitted to the Pension Scheme in good time and make follow ups with defaulting clients.
  • Compile relevant pension reports for submission to the supervisor.
  • Administer pensioner’s accounts regularly updating them to facilitate payments.
  • Compute pension benefits according to scheme rules upon receipt of pension claim forms from eligible beneficiaries and submit same to supervisor for verification.
  • Explain benefit calculations and other vital details to beneficiaries to facilitate understanding.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Superior interpersonal and coaching skills including patience and ability to work well with staff at all levels
  • Proficiency in computer use especially in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Good reasoning abilities and sound judgment
  • Innovative and quick learner
  • Education and Work Experience:
  • Degree in Business Administration or any business/accounting related studies;
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience
  • Driver’s licence
