Assistant Human Resourse Officer - Kitwe

One of our clients, a well-established milling company here in Zambia is looking for an Assistant Human Resources Officer for their Kitwe operation

Job Purpose:

  • Responsible for managing the human resources function at the Kitwe branch office.

Job Qualification Requirement

  • Full grade 12 School Certificate with an Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Management.
  • Three (3) years previous experience in such a similar role and with demonstrated supervisory, leadership and analytical problem-solving skills


  • Manage and effectively supervise departmental staff at the assigned branch offices by ensuring that they perform their job functions as expected and that operations are efficient and effective. Engage in the same work as you supervise.
  • Handle and manage the human resources function at the Kitwe branch office by ensuring that operations are efficient and effective.
  • Provision of payroll input as well as checking and ensuring that all staff are paid which is due to them.
  • Ensure that records of staff on the salaries and payroll system information system are updated whenever necessary and kept up to date at all times.
  • Conduct exit interviews, induction process for newly recruited staff, debriefings including facilitating of the clearance process for all separations and ensure that separation dues are paid on time.
  • Ensure that changes to the monthly payroll are communicated to the salaries and payroll office on time.
  • Ensure proper and consistent implementation of human resource policies and procedures at the assigned branch office for effective and efficient communication.
  • Handle and manage the disciplinary process at the assigned branch office by ensuring that the resolving of such matters is concluded within a period of not less than seven (7) working days.
  • Ensure the registration of newly recruited staff with NAPSA are processed in a timely manner
  • Compile accidents reports in liaison with the Health and Safety Coordinator for injuries suffered at the workplace at the Malambo branch office for onward submission to the Worker Compensation Fund Control Board and the Labour Office within the required time frame.
  • Benefits administration:
  • Ensure that separation dues, relocation allowances and funeral grants are paid to deserving staff in a timely manner.
