Logistics Assistant

Job Description

Purpose

  • LR Program aims to restore and improve the livelihoods of the people who have been displaced by the activities of the Lusaka Water Supply, Sanitation, and Drainage Project that is expanding and upgrading the drainage and sewage systems in northern Lusaka.
  • The program aims to provide the affected people with skills and knowledge that will enable them to operate viable businesses, with an aim to provide them and their families with household incomes equal to or better than when they were previously farming.

Objective of the assignment

  • Under the supervision of the finance and logistics manager, the logistics assistant will participate in all logistic duties of the program for the duration of the Livelihood Restoration Program (LR Program).
  • Specific tasks
  • In charge of receipt, safe-keeping and storage of items in the LRP store room
  • Ensure proper security of the store room
  • Arrange transport and training venues
  • Ensure regular service and refuel of the project vehicle
  • Solicit and receive of invoices from vendors
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the finance and logistics manager

Desired qualifications

The suitable candidate for logistics assistant position should hold the following qualifications:

  • Diploma in business administration or logistics management
  • Proven experience as logistics officer
  • Ability to work with little supervision
  • Computer literate
  • Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A valid drivers’ license
