Background of Kasanka Trust

Kasanka Trust Ltd. (KTL) manages Kasanka National Park (KNP) in partnership with the Department of National Parks and Wildlife (DNPW). KTLs work includes resource protection, community development, environmental education, and toursim.

Organisation structure and management

The KTL headquarters are located within KNP, Chitambo District, Central Province. The Accountant will be part of the field management team comprising administration, operational, community development and tourism managers and their support staff. The Accounts Clerk will report to the General Manager through the KTL Accountant.

Core Responsibilities

The Accounts Clerks core responsibility is to carry out all book keeping and associated administrative and statutory requirements of KTL. For more information on the specific ToR, please contact lodge@kasankanationalpark.com .

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary level qualification in accounting
  • 3+ years’ experience in a bookkeeper role
  • Computer literate (including Pastel or similar accounting software)
  • Excellent English communication skills

Optional but Desired Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience working for not-for-profit companies and on donor-funded projects

Important Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to live in a remote area with limited access to amenities
  • Willingness to work in a team and to carry out supporting duties outside of the normal job description as and when requested by management to ensure effective operations
  • Zambian Citizenship or Residency
