Assistant ICT Officer-Communication x1

In line with our corporate priorities aimed at ensuring optimization of revenue collection and increased tax compliance on one hand and the need to effectively manage the numerous challenges and opportunities in the fast changing business environment on the other, we are seeking highly motivated, result-oriented and well-qualified and experienced professionals to fill the following vacancy under Modernization and Corporate Strategy Division:

GRADE: ZRA07

  • Reporting to the ICT Officer — Communication Support, the job holder will be responsible for effectively supporting the ZRA business through the provision of timely, cost effective, efficient and professional ICT communication services through consultation, agreements and research, with customers and service providers by developing and implementing ICT strategies, standards and procedures for the purpose of achieving corporate goals.

Main Duties/Accountabilities

The main duties and accountabilities of this position include but not limited to the following:

  • Assist in administering the IP PBX system
  • Ensure that all telephones and talk time bills are collected, verified and prepared for payment
  • Reprogram IP phones, fax system and telephone sets
  • Train users on the features of the IP PBX system
  • Administer user talk time on the IP PBX system
  • Assist in maintaining the IP PBX system
  • Assist in maintaining/repairing telephone, cell phones, network points and other telephone accessories
  • Ensure that all external telephone faults are reported and resolved by service providers
  • Assist in the installations of IP phones sets, telephone sets, cell phones and network communication cables
  • Assist in the transfer of direct lines and extension lines from one office to another depending on requests from users
  • Requirements
  • Grade Twelve School Certificate/ General Certificate of Education equivalent
  • Diploma in Telecommunications / Electronics or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years relevant experience in IP PBX and Telephone systems
