Digital Marketing / Communication Specialist

Job Purpose

  • The Digital Marketing/ Communication Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing marketing campaigns that promote a company and its products and/or services.
  • Play a major role in enhancing brand awareness within the digital space as well as driving website traffic and acquiring leads/customers.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage digital marketing campaigns
  • Oversee a social media strategy
  • Manage and maintain the organisation’s website
  • Create and upload copy and images for the organisation's website
  • Write and optimise content for the website and social networking accounts such as Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, LinkedIn and App
  • Track and analyse website traffic flow and provide regular internal reports
  • Attain key performance indicators such as reducing the website bounce rate, increasing dwell time or improving conversion
  • Continually work on the Search Engine Optimization of the website(s)
  • Edit and post videos, podcasts and audio content to online sites
  • Arrange webinars and webcasts
  • Write copy for email marketing campaigns
  • Identify new trends in digital marketing, evaluate new technologies and ensure the brand is at the forefront of industry developments, particularly developments in mobile marketing
  • Organize and execute communication with leads generated via digital platforms
  • Negotiate with media suppliers to achieve the best price for clients.
  • Assist with paid media - including liaising with digital advertising agencies
  • Attend product launches and networking events, and promptly post to company digital platforms
  • Recommend type of promotion and digital media to use by departments.

Primary Areas of Accountability:

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Marketing, Communication / any Commercial Field or
  • Professional Marketing Qualification (CIM)
  • Must have at least 2-4 years in Digital Marketing / Communication
  • A qualification in Graphic Designing will be a plus
  • Sound knowledge of HTML/JavaScript will be an added advantage
  • Strong knowledge of search engine optimization and advanced Word and Powerpoint skills
  • Must be a member of Zambian Institute of Marketing
