Hotel Manager

Northern Rock Hotel has an exciting opportunity for a Hotel Manager to join the team based in their hotel in Mpika, Muchinga Province. You will work on a full time, permanent basis and receive a highly competitive salary including accommodation and transport allowance. Northern Rock Hotel is expanding fast. Our Hotel Manager should be passionate about delivering an outstanding customer experience and strive to deliver a consistently high quality product plus great service at every contact point. As Hotel Manager, you would be responsible for leading, coaching and motivating the reception, housekeeping and food production teams.

As Hotel Manager you will be:

  • Making sure rooms and communal areas are cleaned thoroughly and consistently
  • Ensuring food is prepared and presented to brand standard
  • Maximising food and beverage sales by cross and upselling
  • Reviewing customer feedback to produce targeted action plans
  • Working with team members to create personal development plans
  • Recruiting motivated team members and making sure they have a warm induction
  • Reporting and overseeing any repairs or maintenance needed Additional responsibilities include rota management, banking and health and safety

Qualifications and Experience

  • Zambian citizen or a resident with a valid work permit
  • Above the age of 25 years
  • Good character
  • Holds a degree or higher diploma in hospitality or hotel management from an accredited higher education institution OR A diploma in hospitality or hotel management from an accredited institution or a higher education institution and five years proven experience in managing a hotel OR Ten years’ experience in managing any service-related business operation.
  • Able to show proof of employment from a licensed accommodation establishment
  • Must have professional membership with the Hotel Managers Registration Council (HMRC) or be willing to apply for a practising certificate and meet all terms and conditions of registration prior to offer of employment
  • Must have a clean valid Zambian driver’s license
  • Be willing to relocate and live in Mpika
