Key Account Manager – Construction

Barloworld Equipment provides total solutions in earthmoving equipment, materials handling and power systems and related equipment in 10 countries in Southern Africa. As the appointed Caterpillar dealer in the region, Barloworld Equipment supplies equipment, parts and service to customers in the mining, construction, handling, agricultural and energy industries. Barloworld Equipment Zambia Limited is looking for a suitably qualified individual to fill the position below:

Job Purpose:

  • Based at Lusaka Office, reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate be responsible for driving the Aftersales business in the Construction sector for Zambia.
  • The candidate will need to show understanding and proactive approaches to market dynamics driving infrastructure development in the territory.
  • They will be responsible for the execution strategy of annual business plans to bring in revenue and consolidate Caterpillar’s market share in the sector.
  • The role will include a dedicated amount of time traveling to visit customers to improve service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • They will manage the following tasks:

Outputs:

  • Generate & grow construction revenue
  • Drive & expand Aftersales business in the Construction Sector
  • Ensure excellent parts & service delivery to customers
  • Managing the Construction Aftersales Team
  • Develop strategic plans to win deals in the construction sector
  • Liaise with Sales team on major construction opportunities in the country.
  • Engage key customer stakeholder’s at the highest level
  • Develop & consolidate strategic relationships with Chinese customers, key government agencies
  • Good understanding of Chinese Construction Sector
  • Catalyze the response time for Field Services required
  • Manage the Lusaka depot facility

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Economic, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or Equivalent
  • MBA or equivalent added advantage
  • Excellent knowledge of the Zambian construction landscape
  • Atleast 7- 10 years’ experience in the Sales and/or Construction industry
  • Fluent in Mandarin
  • Diploma or Certificate in Chinese Language (added advantage)
  • A Technical qualification would be an added advantage
  • Proficiency in MS office ERP systems/packages
  • Product knowledge of the Caterpillar Brands
  • Minimum 5 years Clean Driver’s
  • Good knowledge on SHEQ standards
