Technical Sales Manager

Quality Commodities Ltd is the country’s leading animal feed production company. We are looking for a Technical Sales Manager with a Sales and Marketing background who is looking to develop their career in our Lusaka Depot. Ideally you have a track record of successfully selling animal feed related products or services. You also have a good reputation in the industry and be well connected especially with regulators and livestock agriculture authorities. The role will require you to carry out practical product formulation on the plant as well as persuasive product presentations in the boardroom.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Searching for new clients who might benefit from company products and services;
  • Developing long-term relationships with clients through managing and interpreting their requirements;
  • Persuading clients that a product or service best satisfies their needs in terms of quality, price and delivery;
  • Providing pre-sales demonstrations, product education, after-sales support services and troubleshooting on livestock production issues;
  • Supporting marketing activities through product attending trade shows, conferences, livestock farmers’ field days and other marketing events;
  • Gather market intelligence, industry networking, supervise research / feeding trials for new products;
  • Developing marketing, sales, operational and other documentation to support the development of the Animal Nutrition business unit within Quality Commodities Limited.
  • Negotiating tender and contract terms and conditions to meet both client and company needs;
  • Perform various sales administration function such as analyzing costs and sales, Calculating client quotations and administering client accounts;

Candidate Requirements

  • Sales and Marketing Degree or Equivalent
  • 5 – 10 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience in Animal Husbandry / Stock feeds / Animal Nutrition will be added advantage
  • A good understanding of Animal Feed Technology is desirable
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and make effective decisions under pressure
  • ‘Hands on’, ‘can do’ attitude is a pre requisite
  • ICT literate
  • Aged between 30 – 40 years
  • Highly organised, strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills
  • Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record for the past three years
  • Strong communication / people skills
  • Good commercial skills
  • Great attitude
  • Remuneration Package
  • Will include base salary plus sales commission!!!
