Content Manager (Pay TV)

Job Purpose

Develop content strategy aligned with short-term and long-term marketing targets. Collaborate with marketing and design teams to plan and develop site content, style and layout. Manage content distribution on all channels and media platforms. Take the lead in the purchase of content.

Summary of Key Responsibilities;

  • Plan and execute a content strategy that drives high engagement
  • Support the building of company strategy on TV content with market data;
  • Help marketing team to position company TV service offer in line with customers' expectations and business objectives;
  • Identify opportunities where company can differentiate versus competition;
  • Serve as editor-in-chief for all content to ensure quality, clarity and consistency
  • Collect, monitor and analyze social and website metrics, and make improvements accordingly
  • Develop an editorial calendar and ensure content team is on board
  • Ensure compliance with law (e.g. copyright and data protection)
  • Stay up-to-date with developments and generate new ideas to draw audience’s attention
  • Stay updated on industry trends and adjust the content strategy as needed
  • Collaborate with brand, product and sales managers to create promotional concepts
  • Manage the distribution of content across all channels
  • Budget control for content
  • Purchase content
  • Other tasks assigned

Required Skills

  • English fluent;
  • Negotiation skills;
  • Ability to pay attention to detail
  • Analytical, business simulation skills;
  • Solid oral and written communication skills;

Primary Areas of Accountability:

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in any Commercial Field- Preferably in Marketing
  • Experience of 4-7years in TV/Media Industry
  • Proven experience in Content Management
  • Must have managed /produced TV/Movie projects
  • Must be a member of a professional body (ZIM or ZAPRA)
