Management Accountant

Agora Microfinance Zambia Ltd (AMZ) is a licensed microfinance lending company that currently operates in the Western, Copperbelt, Muchinga, Lusaka and Central provinces of the country. The mission of AMZ is to ‘Contribute to the economic well-being of the poor through effective provision of appropriate financial services.’

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Job Overview:

  • The management accountant is a middle management role that will report to the Chief Financial officer, duties will be as follows:

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of financial statements
  • Preparation of management accounts
  • Oversee the postings in the system
  • Reconciliation of general ledger accounts
  • Management of statutory obligations
  • Management of the Fixed asset register
  • Manage the purchases and administration unit
  • Provide information for audits
  • Recommend ways of cutting costs
  • Making sure spending is in line with budgets
  • Work with all departments and the senior management team to make financial decisions

Minimum Qualification And Experience:

  • Degree in Economics, ACCA/CIMA/ZiCA finalist
  • Two years’ work experience in a similar role preferably in a financial institution
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Dashboards

Skills:

  • Good inter-personal and communication skills.
  • Analytical, organizational and leadership skills.
  • Good report writing and oral presentation skills.
