National Coordinator

WWF Zambia is seeking to employ a National Coordinator for the GroundTruth2.0 Project in its Country office. This is a one-year term position, with possibility of renewal. Its core responsibility is to support project implementation for innovative conservation delivery across the office with a specific focus on the GroundTruth2.0 Project. Activities will include support to development and management of interventions related to the establishment of Citizens’ Observatory in the KAZA area of Zambia.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that WWF fully performs its role in the GroundTruth2.0 Project as per project document and develop opportunities for the scaling up of the project
  • Support the coordination of the GroundTruth2.0 Project to ensure effective engagement and information sharing with the Project Management Team (PMT) and stakeholders
  • Attend and participate in monthly telephone conference (Telco) with the PMT
  • Coordinate with the Zambia Demo case team to arrange meetings and follow up
  • Support in organisation and management of technical workshops for WWF and stakeholders
  • Support coordination of scaling up of Citizen’s Observatory in collaboration with the National CRB Association
  • Cooperate with the Demo Case co-leader/technical support from UNESCO IHE to prepare for meetings and follow up relevant issues
  • Update the activity sheet before each monthly PMT meeting and review activity sheets from other demo cases
  • Liaise with the WWF communications team in designing and executing communication products

Qualifications and experience:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Resources Management, Environmental Science or Engineering Development Studies.
  • A Master’s Degree will be added advantage
  • At least 5 years’ experience in managing multi-stakeholder platforms and groupings
  • Experience in event management
  • Good knowledge of media and social media
