Job Overview

We are looking for a Chef to join our team and prepare delicious meals for our guests and employees. Oversees a restaurant’s kitchen by managing food preparations, deciding what dishes to serve and adjusting orders to meet guests’ requests. May assist in prep work, such as chopping vegetables, but more often will be involved in cooking specialty dishes. Chooses ingredients and designs a menu based on the seasonal availability of food items. Creates unique dishes that inspire guests to come back again and again to see what is new in the restaurant.

Hospitality Manager

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans and kitchen scales
  • Study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients
  • Cook food in a timely manner
  • Delegate tasks to kitchen staff
  • Inform wait staff about daily specials
  • Ensure appealing plate presentation
  • Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy)
  • Monitor food stock and place orders
  • Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items
  • Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
  • Clean and arrange guest rooms to hotel standards for guest arrival
  • Clean and maintain common areas of the house
  • Perform laundry duties as necessary when need be
  • Stock and maintain housekeeping supply rooms
  • Ensure a high level of guests service is performed at all times
  • Assist guests with requests and questions as necessary
  • Report any damages or repairs needed to management


  • Full Grade 12 Certificate
  • 2+ years culinary education.
  • 5+ years experience in similar position.
  • Skills
  • Advanced knowledge of food profession principles and practices.
  • Proficient knowledge of human resources management.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Available to work on call, shifts, after hours, over weekends and on public holidays
