The University of Zambia School Of Medicine’s “Strengthening Health Professional

Workforce Education Programs for Improved Quality Health care in Zambia” (SHEPIZ)

Project is a five-year USA NIH funded program with a focus on enhancing specialist health

workforce for the improvement of quality health care in Zambia.

Job Summary

The job holder will be responsible for taking a proactive and leading role in managing the

SHEPIZ grant in particular and, other grants in general.

Attributes

  • Knowledge of the University of Zambia financial policies, procedures and systems.
  • Knowledge and experience in managing research grants particularly knowledge of the
  • National Institute of Health (NIH) and the European Union (EU) funding agencies and
  • procedures governing the administration of contracts and grants.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial reporting and monitoring of large amounts of funds.
  • Demonstrated administrative skills including experience in maintaining calendars,
  • scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings, making travel arrangements and
  • coordinating special events.
  • computer literacy with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Power
  • Point.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 Certificate or its equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or/and health sciences.
  • At least three (3) years relevant work experience
