Field Monitor – Humanitarian & Emergency Affairs x56

Report To: Field Coordinator

Locations: Shangombo, Siavonga, Mazabuka, Chikankata, Monze, Gwembe, Sinazongwe, Kalomo, Zimba, Kazungula, Kaoma, Luampa, Nkeyema, Sioma

Purpose of the position:

  • To handle and monitor distributions, documentation and reporting for food and non-food items (NFI) in line with WVI and donor standards. S/he will also communicate World Vision’s Christian ethos and demonstrate a quality of spiritual life that is an example to others.

Major Responsibility:

  • Ensure that food and Non- food Items (NFIs) received at Food Distribution Points (FDP) is handled with high integrity and accountability levels in compliance with WVI, donor and other international standards.
  • Work with the local committees and partners etc. in community sensitization, beneficiary identification and registration, monitoring and organizing distribution processes.
  • Prepare distribution plans, and oversee distribution process at FDPs in collaboration with satellite committee.
  • Generate distribution and monitoring reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Report on planned against distributed at the end of each distribution cycle.
  • Proper documentation of commodity movement and monthly distributions reports
  • Monitor and report all security situation at distribution points and ensure complaints from beneficiaries are well handles and referred at all times.

Qualifications/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum a Diploma in Social Work, Development Studies or a related field with two years’ experience.
  • Experience in food aid management and accounting or disaster management will be an added advantage.
  • Computer literate in MS word, excel and data analysis software is recommended.
  • Ability to work under pressure and minimum supervision.
  • Must have good analytical, writing, organizing and communications skills.
  • Ability to prioritize many demands without losing focus.
  • 2 years’ experience in food aid management and accounting or disaster management.
  • Must be a motorbike rider and holder of a valid motorbike license.
