Regional Manager

In order to support our growth aspirations, we seek to recruit a qualified candidate who is self-motivated and results-oriented to fill the following position:

Reporting to: Chief Operations Officer

Location: Head Office – Lusaka

As Regional Manager your job will be to plan, organize, control and coordinate VFZ credit operational activities (Loan Portfolio) so as to realize the organizational goals and objectives

Key Responsibilities:

  • To manage the loan portfolio and inform management on the performance of existing portfolio
  • Ensure an increase in the number of clients by at least 30% by end of contract period depending on availability of loan capital
  • Ensure an increase in the loan portfolio depending on availability of loan capital
  • To ensure that an acceptable repayment rate is maintained in all branches all the time
  • Reduce the PAR to at least 5% by close of contract period
  • To recruit and train staff in the Operations Department
  • To prepare and review VFZ Credit policies and procedures periodically
  • To assist field staff together with the SCO in collecting /restructuring bad performing loans
  • To prepare and implement the Operations Department ‘s Annual Operating Plan(Budget)
  • To advise management on incentives for clients
  • To ensure that effective monitoring and reporting systems are put in place
  • To approve loan applications once appraised satisfactorily in line with the authority chart
  • To ensure that all new Operations Staff competently understand the VFZ Credit Operations and Procedures Manual
  • To provide management with monthly portfolio reports
  • To update and Train all operations staff the credit operations manuals
  • To ensure that training needs assessment is conducted for all operations staff

Minimum qualification requirements and competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Banking, Finance, Economics or equivalent qualification.
  • Knowledge of Human Centered Design approach
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Credit with a reputable financial institution
  • Good knowledge of various MFS products, current trends, market dynamics and customer needs.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and other product and user experience related issues
  • Ready to comply and live up to and in accordance with the organization Ideals and Core Values
