Procurement Assistants

Support Supply Chain Management team for strategic sourcing initiatives and category management activities through analysis and development for assigned program and/or category scope. Provide administrative support to Procurement committee work. Communicate World Vision’s Christian ethos and demonstrate a quality of spiritual life that is an example to others.

Major Responsibilities

Analysis & Modeling:

  • Collect and analyze market and internal data
  • Collect and analyze category and spend data
  • Support the development of internal and external category strategies
  • Contribute to the development of Total Cost of Ownership models
  • Support supplier selection activities including qualitative and quantitative analysis, selection criteria, long and short lists
  • Assist with analysis of quotations and RFP/Qs

Sourcing Support:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of sourcing strategies
  • Work with Supply Chain Management team and internal customers to gather and assess business requirements
  • Support the development of Requests for Information (RFIs), as needed
  • Support the development of Requests for Proposal (RFPs)
  • Support the development of Supplier Recommendations based on RFP assessments
  • Assist with the development of consolidated Supply Chain Management plans
  • Contribute to the development of category implementation plans
  • Support the development and maintenance of supplier agreements
  • Prepare Procurement status updates
  • Assist with capturing benefit tracking metrics for reporting to SCM Manager

General Supply Chain Management Support:

  • Participate in Cross-Functional Sourcing Teams.
  • Support miscellaneous category and program management activities
  • Contribute to the identification and development of continuous improvement solutions with strategic suppliers
  • Support management of supplier relationships and performance
  • Work with SCM Team to manage Internal customer satisfaction
  • Collect data to support performance scorecard reporting (i.e. KPIs)
  • Provide support to Procurement committees’ work by taking minutes at committee meeting

Qualifications/Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience:

  • Diploma in business studies and/or Supply chain Management
  • Degree is in any business science is added advantage
  • Any CIPS qualification and must be a member of either Member of ZIPS and/or Member of CIPS
  • Preferably 3-5 years Supply Chain Management experience
  • Understanding of Supply Chain Management issues
  • Basic understanding of Supply Chain Management concepts.
  • Ability to analyse and report on Supply Chain Management and financial metrics
  • Understanding of market analysis experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Technical skills in computing and using standard software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and Internet)
  • Proven problem analysis and decision making skills
  • Proven data analysis and manipulation skills
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Good skills in English and regional used language(s)
  • Customer focused
  • Demonstrates Christ-centred life and work

Working Environment / Conditions:

  • The Supply Chain Management analyst will largely be based in Lusaka but may be required travel to the field
  • Travel: Atleast 10% local travel required.
