Project Coordinator

We are looking for a project coordinator to run a project aimed at developing Chansha community by increasing income of small-scale farmers through; Goat production development and Herbs production Out-grower schemes.

The project coordinator is responsible for overall coordination of the project including implementation of project activities following the project budget and timetable. The project manager represents the project before local partners and beneficiaries:

  • Organizing trainings, workshops, demonstrations, community meetings
  • Realization of inspections and monitoring in the communities
  • Regular communication with beneficiaries and communities. – Coordination of the project
  • organization of project activities according to the project document and/or yearly and monthly plan of work focusing on quality delivery and project impacts and results
  • Everyday management of the project
  • the project manager is responsible for facilitation of material, equipment and facility for conducting project activities
  • collecting all necessary documentation a project records, monitoring of the budget, accounts record keeping
  • Event organization (e.g. ceremonies, public holiday attendance) – Researching and suggesting new project activities above and beyond project document and capacity building activities that will increase impact of the project
  • Contact with the beneficiaries, their recruitment, selection and monitoring. Community awareness about the project, community relationships and promoting the project among beneficiaries.
  • Management of project business activities or income generating activities
  • Preparation of reports for the organization, donors, partners and other stakeholders, monitoring and evaluation of project activities, data collection
  • Communication with the partners and stake holders on local level and representing the project before them
  • Actively searching for new opportunities, funding and partnership for the project and participating on new projects development and formulation

Requirements

  • Minimum grade 12 certificate
  • Agriculture education or experience will be considered as an advantage
  • At least 5 years experience as a field officer or project coordinator in rural areas
  • Community mobilization skills(small-scale farmers)
  • Organisational skills
  • Basic administrative skill e.g. book keeping, official correspondence
  • Basic Project Monitoring & Evaluation skill

We are offering:

K 4000.00 gross salary
