Manager – Health & Safety

Qualifications and Skills Requirements

  • Grade 12 School Certificate
  • Degree in Occupational Health, or any related Technical field.
  • An industry recognised qualification in Occupational Health & Safety Diploma (or equivalent) will be an added advantage
  • Proven experience of at least 8 years in Occupational Health and Safety, including operations experience in a related industry at senior management level.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience of maintaining or reaching externally audited management standards such as ISO 45001 or its predecessor OHSAS 18001
  • Must have abilityto implement new work processes to eliminate or reduce hazards
  • An interest in the law and the ability to understand regulations especially those related to Occupational health and Safety
  • Must have the knowledge and skill to make determinations from investigative reports of workplace accidents and suggest alternative methods to prevent injury in the future.
