Yalelo is seeking a sharp, energetic, young and enthusiastic Location Scout Assistant who is to work under the Marketing Manager. This position is open to Zambians only.
The role will be primarily based in Lusaka, with regular mobility to find new store locations.
Primary Job Purpose:
To provide warehousing & logistics distribution support to Sales & Customer Service through the receipt, issue, maintenance and delivery of fish commodity and other goods in accordance with agreed customer service levels.
Responsible for scouting and locating sites with the highest possible sales potential where Yalelo’s direct-selling outlets can be set-up
Responsible for ascertaining the form in which Yalelo should expand into a given area e.g. store vs refrigerated container
Assess site costs in terms of renovation works and be aware of any site specific constraints
Negotiate Lease agreements particulars and rental fees to minimize store overhead costs
Compile regulatory costs per town associated with Health, Fire, Business permits
Work with Branding and Marketing team to provide guidance on the amount of works required, the consumer profile in the area and the expected volumes that can be expected per month
Build strong relationships with Landlords, potential customers e.g. restaurants, butcheries, fish center’s etc.
Be the temporary custodian of lease agreements up until the documents are signed by the necessary parties and handed over to the Store Development Coordinator for storage
Work with relevant stakeholders (Marketing, Sales, Finance) to plan travel, transport and any other costs associated with scouting per location
Work closely with Marketing and Sales team to ensure that the best possible sites are located based on the Store Selection Criteria
Ensure that each store selected are within the approved budget
Monitor and manage travel costs by using affordable suppliers and services

Facilitate discussions around rental fees and try to get the best possible rates.
Ensure that lease agreements are presented to both parties in decent time so that store-rollouts are scheduled in Ensure all necessary paperwork is readily available when Store Development Coordinator and Marketing Manager visit the store for approval
Handover all necessary documentation including rental invoices, permit quotes and signed agreements to the Store Development Coordinator in a timely manner
Where appropriate keeps up to date with legislative requirements through membership of industry organizations.

Strong analytical and interpretive skills
Proficient user of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong planning and organisational skills
Ability to speak multiple Zambian languages is a bonus and travel 80% of the time.
